Hyphen

How it works

Simple to start.Rigorous underneath.

It starts with a free Commercial Assessment. What happens next depends entirely on what the assessment finds.

First step

A free Commercial Assessment. No charge, no obligation, and not a generic sales pitch.

The journey

The path is decided by the evidence, not by a package.

01

Commercial Assessment

A free, structured look at performance, pressure points and the strongest visible opportunity.

02

Recommendation

One of four honest outcomes, based on what the assessment actually found.

Possible recommendations

  • Revenue Recovery

Used when the strongest opportunity is lost revenue from existing enquiries, quotations or previous customers.

  • Business Review

Used when the opportunity or constraint spans the wider business and requires deeper commercial and operational diagnosis.

  • Directly scoped improvement

Used when the opportunity is already clear, sufficiently understood and does not require a wider Business Review.

  • No further engagement

Used when there is no sufficiently valuable or appropriate reason to continue.

Where work does follow, it moves into implementation alongside the owner, then the result is measured. Nothing is automatic: Revenue Recovery can reveal a wider opportunity that later justifies a Business Review, and a Business Review can lead to prioritised implementation, but each step is separately justified and agreed.

01The two most common routes

Revenue Recovery

For businesses losing value inside enquiries, quotations and previous customers.

  • Faster and more consistent response
  • Better enquiry and quotation follow-up
  • Clearer visibility of the sales pipeline

Business Review

For businesses where the constraint sits across operations, reporting or ownership of decisions.

  • A clear view of current performance
  • The most valuable priority to address
  • Immediate opportunities and material risks
  • A practical 90-day improvement roadmap

Investment

Investment is scoped after the Commercial Assessment, once the opportunity and required work are clear.

02The Hyphen Method

Six stages, applied in order.

The Method is circular. Develop returns to Discover, because a business is never finished.

01Discover
02Diagnose
03Design
04Deploy
05Drive
06Develop

Understand, improve, measure, repeat.

  • Discover

Understand how the business currently works.

  • Diagnose

Identify the evidence behind the opportunity or constraint.

  • Design

Agree the improvement, ownership and measure of success.

  • Deploy

    Build and implement the improvement.

  • Drive

Embed it into the way the business operates.

  • Develop

Measure the result and identify what should happen next.

Start with the assessment.

You should leave with a clearer view of where the strongest opportunity may sit and what, if anything, is worth doing next.
